Search terms are matched against party names, aliases, matter roles, and related parties.

Conflict searches stop after 20 minutes so runaway tests do not tie up the app. CMIForge also skips search terms shorter than 3 searchable characters after normalization, such as one-letter initials or tiny fragments.
CMIForge normalizes punctuation and corporate suffixes, checks aliases, then applies fuzzy scoring and relationship expansion.
